EB2 or EB3?

Hi,

My current employeer is applying for Green Card and he started my Labor processing. They told me that they are going to apply for EB3 they can't go for EB2 due to lack of education. Because I have Bachelors (3 yrs) and Masters (2 yrs) they can't club both and make it as 16 yrs full time education this is against rule.

I would like to know weather the rule is right or wrong because I already have 6+yrs experience before joining there company and I am ok as per experience.

Please let me know weather they can use for 16 yrs education by clubing both Bachelors(3yrs) + Masters (2yrs).
