On H1B, But would be living outside for a Year

Hi,

I am currently on H1B(6 year period expires in Nov 2004). I am currently on an assignment in UK for one year. When I come back to US on the same H1b, would I get another 6 years on my H1B if I apply for an extension. I do not have any plans for a visit to US in the mean time.

Even I would like to know by how many years u can extend the H1B visa once 6 years are over? My green card is in labor and visa expires in March 2004...Approximately how much time will it take to get the GC? Can I get it till March 2004?

H1B 7th year extensions

If your LC is pending for 365 days at DOL and your visa is expiring you are eligible for 1 year extensions, until such a time as DOL comes out with a result of your application. If at that time your LC is declined, you will have to leave the US. You can take a 1 year break and re-enter after a year on a new H1B.
