GC while having H4 possible?

Hi,
I would like to know if anybody has got GC done while having H4 dependent VISA. What are the potential issues?

I don't think there is a separate processing for H4 (Dependant). When the working person files for I-140/485, spouse's name also can be added so that both of them will get green card.

Before the working person gets his/her green card approved, spouse's name should be added. Otherwise, he/she will have to wait many years (3 I think) before they come to US.

I knew a fried of mine who got married and brought his wife 2 days before his green card got approved. So if you haven't applied for 485, apply now and go and get married. And add his/her name to the documents as soon as possible.

However I was not clear in my question.
Let me be clear this time.

I am on H1b and my employer is not sponsering GC.

My wife has same skills as mine and she came on h1b earlier.

Now she is on H4. Can we get her GC done?
Is it possible to get GC processed while being on H4?

Well, a company can file for labor certification and continue with subsequent process even if you don't have a work visa. Remember, green card is for a future permanent employee. H1-B is for current vacany. So your wife can apply for labor certification if a company is ready to process her case. But you need to have very good contacts to have companies do this for you.
