My labor was approved from chicago DOL on 7/7/2000. My lawyer spoke to the people at chicago yesterday and told me that they mailed the approval notice on 7/19/2000. But my lawyer never received it. I would appreciate it if somebody can suggest me what to do.
Here is what my lawyer suggested. I don't know whether this is the right thing to do or not. I would appreciate your help. This is the text of the mail from the lawyer.
I spoke with someone at the Department of Labor. Your application was mailed on July 19, 2000 and has not been returned to them. As such, it must be stuck somewhere in the mail.
All we can do is file your I-140 visa petition with a copy of the labor certification application and the notice indicating that the application was approved. I have never done this before but we can try it and see what happens.
