Hello guys i am currently in the the process of a perm labor cert. My lawyer has asked me to provide my experience letter. My question is how thorough do they check this experience letter and will they call the company to find out if everything is legit? The reason i ask this is because my ex boss doesn't really like me at the moment and he might try to screw this up for me.

Aah! So you're trying ...
... to pull a fast one!
Well, first of all, everything has to be truthful and nothing else. Don't lie or falsify any information. Irrespective whether your boss likes you or not, there is no way you will go scott free if you falsify information or create fraudulent documentation.
Now, if you want a proper experience letter, it can be given by a senior with whom you worked on the same project(s) or in the worst case, a colleague can write one for you.
You do not have to get one from your boss if you don't want to.
Good luck.

They cant mess up as you can prove it with other docs like W2, paystubs, offer letter etc. If you both were part of some scheme and now gotten into a mess, then you are toast.
I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.
