  • When to apply for labour?

I've been on a continuous employment for about 13 months now. My employer has promised me to file for GC after an year of continuous employment. But now he is suggesting me that a work experience of atleast 6 months would be helpful for me.

Experts, please let me know if it is necessary for me wait for another 6 months or do I ask my employer to file it right now.
    Thanks

    Right now ...

... you should apply right now, plain and simple.

The possibility of your labor getting approved in this economy with so many USCs and GC holders out of their jobs is slim.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.

The basis for a GC labor is non availability of people in the US (USC, GC holders) for such a job. Your employer could sponsor even now if your job is of such a type.
