  • Delay in starting Green card process

    Hi Guys,
I work for a small company (size of 10 members). I have been requesting my company for green card process for past 1 and 1/2 yrs. There seems to be no precise answer. I am not sure whether they are worried about the cost involved in it. Can I spend from my pocket to do the green card process ?. Because one of my friends told me that there is a immigration rule that the sponsoring company has to spend for green card process not the employee himself, is that true ? .

    Thank you

    Hi,

My situation is similar to yours. I consulted several attorneys regarding this and they say I can pay for the entire process provided, the company would be willing to support with all the required documentation. But, my company insists that at least the labor has to be sponsored by the employer and they have to bear all the expenses related to the labor. I'm confused

Also, I heard that Labor PERM could be very expensive

Because, the law says so. Your company is following the law.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.
