PERM Eb2 Atlanta & Internal job change

Hi Guys -
My PERM was filed with Atlanta in EB2 Sep 2008 , currently pending.

I am very interested in applying for a internal opportunity within my company in a different department that essentially is called "Consulting Services".

When i talked to my HR he mentioned that as long as the "core" requirements of both the jobs stay the same he can let me move laterally to the new position.

Is this true ?

Hi Txh1b - When you say "possible" , does it mean that i need to wait until the PERM is approved and I140 has been pending for more than 180 days OR its possible even before PERM can be approved as long as the "core" requirements stay the same ?
