  • Employer Experience Letter

I'm stuck in a very strange situation .

My Company is willing to sponsor my GC and they need experience letter from my previous employer mentioning my job title, period of employment and job responsibilities. The job position needs Bachelors + 3 years of relevant experience.

-My Former employer is not ready to mention in their exp letter about my technical responsibilities because of the company policy. They can ONLY mention job title and period of employment.

    1) What will happen If my Lawyer submits previous experience letter without mentioning job responsibilities?

    2) Will they be able to file my GC and even If they file, will it be approved?

I request all of you to please reply.

    Thanks

You have to use other means to substantiate that along with the letter they give. An example would be if they filed for the H1b, a cover letter to USCIS would describe what you do for the company in detail. That should work.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.

      No need to worry

      Hi:

This always happens with ex-employers. Once you leave the company, they will show you different different policies just to harass you.

Even some employers are not ready to give any kind of letter. In this case, you can get the signed letter with your role and responsibility from your ex-collegue and just ask him to get notarized. S(h)e can get notarized this letter from any of the bank in which she/he has account.

          Sidharth: Answer to your question

I don't know it is law or not. But to get it notarized is very simple process. If your ex-collegue is in USA, then ask him/her to go for any bank with which he/she has account. They will
notarized without any charge. But make sure, that whatever your ex-collegue is signing in the letter it should be true. Otherwise, in future may be it might create problem for you.
