I am currently waiting for approval of my PERM application (that was applied in July, currently June cases are being handled per the website)
My H1B visa is expiring on 12Jan so I mostly won't get the necessary approvals by then and thus I won't be able to legally work after 12Jan.
I am planning to switch to tourist visa and don't work until I get my I-140 and H1B extension approved (hopefully by mid/end Feb).
Legally I think I can resume working after getting the the I-140 and subsequent H1B extension approvals, but do I need to go out of the US to get stamping done? I know I don't need to go out if I get the approvals before H1B visa expiry (and get the stamping done whenever I go out of US), but not sure in this case.
Thanks!
