PERM filing

Hi,

I am working as a full time employee in company X. I have asked my company to start GC two months back and they agreed to file PERM and they contacted company attorney to do so. But last month there are lay offs in the company in different departments. Only one guy(American citizen) is laid off in technical side. He works in different technology though.

Will this effect anyway in starting my GC?
I am bit worried now that whenever I ask HR just says its in process.
Is something do I have to worry?
I have 1year 9months remaining in my 6 year H1B.

Hi,

You could request the HR to provide you the # which would be given when they submit the ETA 9089 form. People join and leave the company,since it is only one person who was laid off, there should not be any problem as long as the company has good financial record.

pl get in touch with the Hr or the attorney and find out the requirements they have for the job position and check with them if your education and experience matches the requirement.
