  • Attorney not responding

    Hi People,

I am in a peculiar kind of situation. My attorney sent me an A number in end-November saying the application is in process. In between he responded saying he will check for any update, but never did. Now he has not been responding at all since more than two months, no matter how many emails and calls.

What should I do? Any valuable advice from the respected members.

Thank you so much in advance.

All you can do is wait. Labor and I-140 are your employer's applications and the lawyer is answerable to the employer not you.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.

Thank you so much, Kabkaba. I was really sad and depressed about it being so long (9 months). I guess I will wait.

Is there a way to at least find out if it was even applied?

Ask your employer to contact him.

Sometimes, employers don't want direct communication between their employees and the attorney as attornies charge for their time. If too many people go to the attorney too much, the employer has to pay the bill.

Therefore, sometimes, the employer would collect several questions from multiple employees and contact the attorney once.

Before anything, Thank you for responding so quickly.

I have tried that (only option). It seems like he is not responding to my employer too.
