Need help for a friend

My friend died 3weeks back and his family wants to stay in this country. His GC is still in first stage so the company will stop processing his GC. The family is currently on H4 visa and it will expire this December.

Is there a way to get Green card for them?
Company is applying for H1 for his wife but she wont be able to work in same field.

Does any one know to get GC?
