45 day letter from backlog centers

Has anybody received 45 day letter from backlog centers and does naybody what is the status with the labor certification with them.

What is a 45 day letter? I currently am on a L1-B, should I be recieving one?

A 45 day letter is a letter that is sent from a Labor Certification Backlog Reducation Center. All labor certification cases pending or filed before March 28, 2005 where shipped to 2 backlog reduction center in the USA. Post-March 28, we have a "new" labor certification system called "PERM" or Program Electronic Review Management. It is an attestation based system using e-technology.

not everybody gets a 45 day letter

I recently found out that not everybody might end up getting a 45 day letter. Especially i you have applied in the last 6-8 months. Apparently the applications received at the Philly BEC from eastern states were not sorted by date or by priority and this resulted in a confusion. The folks at the Philly BEC have decided to convert all applications received so far electronically, this would help sort the applications by date and by priority. I have also heard that the DOL intends to put up a website sometime in the petember, october timeframe wherein one can find the status.

BTW, if you are EB3, the VISA bulletin says the status in "unknown" and will perhaps remain that way until october this year.
