H1B 7 th year extension

Hi

I am working for a comany "A" and my green card is filed by compnay "B".
If I need H1B extension after completetion of 6 years,Do I need to
change my current h1b to company B before completion of 5th year or Can
I continue the same employer(comany A) till the approval of Green card.

Please let me know your opinion.

Peri,
Our labor certification system is prospectively looking so you can work for a different employer on H1, while a different employer files for your GC. Now, when you go on your interview it does look "good" if you are working for the employer that filed your green card application.

You can work for any employer on H1B. However, you MUST work with the GC sponsoring company for 180 days after I-140 Approval.
