I am planning to go to Austria as a PhD student and am in the process of preparing visa application from India. In the list of documents I obtained from the Austrian embassy, one of the documents is a police clearance certificate. Apparently this kind of certificate is issued by the local police station, office of district commissioner of police and also by the regional passport office. Which one should I get to make a long term student schengen visa application? It will be great help, thank you.
