  • Schengen Visa..few queries!!

    Hello everyone!

I had recently applied for schengen visa(short-term) through spanish consulate in mumbai.
I have few queries but before let me tell you guys my main reason for the visit.

My main reason to visit spain is to appear for an interview in my dream institution for which i am finally shortlisted. I will be in spain for three days and then travel to netherlands with my friend who is already in germany. My duration of the trip would be 7 days.
The whole trip is sponsored by my father. This will be my first international travel and obviously my first visa stamp in the passport!

    Documents submitted:

    1. Passport
    2. photos (accordance to the specifications)
    3. Cover letter.
    4. Invitation letter from the university.
    5. One more letter from the director of the university to the spanish general consulate confirming my reason to visit.
    6. 3 years IT returns. (of my father)
    7. 6 months salary sheet (of my father)
    8. notarized NOC from my father for my trip.
    9. Confirmed return tickets and also confirmed air tickets for my travel from spain to netherlands.
    10. Confirmed hotel bookings for my entire stay.
    11. Travel insurance.

    My queries are:

    1. I am self-employed but i personally do not have enough balance to cover my trip and hence my father is sponsoring. This has not been mentioned in my documents, not because i did not want to but i didn't know where to! Will this be a problem? Can i be assumed by the consulate as a prospective illegal immigrant??

    2. My date for travel is 9th April and my documents were submitted on 25th March. I know its very very late..just two weeks prior to my departure! The delay was because of the pending document from the university which had to be submitted in the consulate. Any changes that my visa be denied/delayed because of this reason??

I am very nervous since this interview is the biggest opportunity i have got after 3 years of work and dont want to mess it up because of visa being rejected/delayed!!

Waiting for your experienced and valuable inputs!

    Thanks in Advance!!
