Hi there,
I am Anish Kakroo from New Delhi, India.
I am going to Germany to pursue a masters course and will be applying for the German national visa (student visa) later this month.
The checklist on the German mission website: "http://www.india.diplo.de/contentblob/4060716/Daten/3744374/student.pdf" mentions that an applicant should have a valid passport with at least 12 months validity after the scheduled return. The duration of my course is 22 months (till June 2017) and my passport is getting expired on December 2017.
How can I get the validity of my passport extended? I had been to the passport office the other day and they told me that they can process the extension only if the passport is due to expire in the next 1 year under the re-issue category.
Since my passport is due to expire in 2.5years, can i apply for an extension in any case?
