Italian Schengen tourist visa application with H1-B visa expiring in 2 months

Hi

I am planning to visit Italy in July 2015. I am an Indian citizen , residing in USA with a valid H1B visa.
There is one minor issue here. My current H1B expires in september 2015. I have my received my H1-B extension approval with the extended I-94 and it is valid till 2018. I do not have the extended H1-B stamped on my visa. The H1-B stamp on my passport expires in September 2015.

Since italy visit visa requires 3 months of validity of passport and also of resident permit, I am in a fix. Is not having the extended H1B stamp on my passport going affect my chances of obtaining the tourist visa?

If anyone has any experience with Italy visit visa application do help me.

Need help ASAP.
