Reading Schengen Visa from German Embassy

Dear all,

I applied for Schengen through the German embassy Jan 28, 2016.
MULT entry Visa was issued on Jan 31 as on the sticker
but valid from April 1st to April 30th

Does this means I can stay for just 1month in the Schengen area or this will be determined at the port of entry
