multiple entry visa or two separate visas

Hello,

I am an Indian in US on H1 visa, which is valid till August.
I have to attend two technical conferences one in Germany in June and one in Greece in July. I have invitations, etc. from both conferences. Both conferences are just a week-long.
My questions are:

1. Should I apply for a twice-entry visa in either Germany or Greece? Or do I need to apply for two single-entry visas separately?
2. If I need to apply two separate single-entry visa, do I need to wait till I return from my first trip to apply for the second visa? Or can apply for the second visa even before I started my first trip?

Does anyone had any experience on something like this? Does anyone know where/whom can I contact to get some clarifications?

1. Apply for multiple entry visa from Germany. If granted you need not do anything else. If only a single entry visa is granted, you can apply for a visa from Greece.

I think Germany and Greece are Schengen area. Think of Schengen visa perhaps you'll get help
