  • Germany Airport Transit Visa Question

    Hi,

Im on H1B and visa (stamped) expired on July 2005 and got the extension approved till Feb 2008 and leaving to india on august 2006. Do i need to have the germany transit visa.

I checked with german consulate in chicago and they told that transit visa is not needed if you have the valid H1B approval notice (extension).

Any comments/suggesstions from anyone will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

      Transit at Frankfurt: Transit Visa

Any update from you guys on the discussion in this thread.

I emailed to almost all the german consulates in USA. Except New York consulate, all others responded saying that I donot need Transit Visa. New York consulate said that I need to get transit visa. I wrote back to New York consulate saying that other german consulates said that Transit Visa is NOT required. I didnot receive any reply for this.

I am on H4 having Expired Visa and valid I-94. Travelling to INDIA with transit at Frankfurt.

Has anyone approached consulate personally regarding the requirement for Transit Visa.

      Thanks,
      Sri

I emailed the german consulate in atlanta and they wrote saying if you have a valid H1 approval notice and are flying to your home country, a transit visa is not required. You can email [email protected] for more information.
