Schengen visa experience.
We successfully got the schegen visa from the french consulate in washington dc. There are few things
which was asked, the consulate website did not have information on this. When
entering the consulate the lady asked a second id for my wife, my wife did
not have a second id, so we said we do not have a second id, and the personal asked
for the copy of the passport, which we did'nt have, so we ran out to george washington
medical college opposite to the consulate, to their library to get the copy of the passport.
We finally got in, thankfully we had come to the consulate 2 hours before the
actual appointment time. Guys also take a copy of the passport. The consulate accepted the travel itenarary from orbitz,
we wasted lot of time with AAA travel agent, and the documents they provided to
us did not even have the address of the hotel in paris. So please don't waste your
time with AAA travel agent. One more thing, my wife did'nt have a bank account, so
they asked us to get a notorized letter from the bank stating I will pay for my
wife's expenditure, but we later convinced the visa officier by showing the marriage
certificate, and finally got the visa.
