2 days stay in Franfurt

Hi,

I am currently in USA on B1 visa. I hold an Indian Passport. On my way back to India I want to stop over at either London or Frankfurt for a day or two. I would like to understand if I need a transit visa? If yes then that is the process and how do I go about it?
