Schengen Tourist Visa - Passport Full

Does anybody know if it is possible to travel on a Schengen multiple entry tourist Visa in an old passport (which is full of stamps, hence now traveling on a new passport).

I would highly appreciate any information!! I've looked everywhere for answers

When you got your new passport ...

... what did the cancellation stamp on your old one (the one with the Schengen visa) say?

In most cases when a passport is cancelled for renewal or number of blank pages, the visas in the passport remain valid.

You need to travel with both the passports, the new one with the blank pages and the old one with the visa.

Did you try to check with the consulate from where you got the original Schengen visa?

The passport isn't actually cancelled yet but when my Wife (as its her passport) cancelled her last one it just said "Cancelled" over the last page (the one with pictures etc). However, that was 3 years ago!

I've read a few forums now and so far everybody has said it should be ok but I am concerned because my Wife is Russian and has difficulties at EVERY border. Do you know if they distinguish between Tourist and Business Schengen Visa in terms of whether it is valid in an old passport?
