  • Question about Schengen D+C Visa.

I require your assistance regarding the Schengen D+C Visa. I was issued Schengen Visa of the following type

    Validity: 15-SEP 2008 to 14 SEP 2009
    MULTIPLE ENTRY
    Visa Type: D+C
Issued From : Italian Embassy in Pakistan

My Question is, what is the validity of C type visa, when issued with the type D+C. Is it 90 days from the date of issue of the visa ( In my case SEP 2008), OR from the arrival date in Italy.

I plan to visit Italy and other Schengen States in April 2009, but i came to know from few websites about mixed opinion, that validity of the C-type visa, when issued with D+C , is only for 90 days from the date off issue, and few websites states that its valid for 90 days from the date of first arrival to the first Schengen State (Italy in my case). I will be obliged if you can provide your guidance regarding this.

Its 90 days from the day you enter any schengen country than Italy, incase your passport got stamped. But you should always careful since you are Pakistani national things might be strict so you should apply for residence permit before going to other Schengen countries.

IMO just assume 90 days since you enter italy, but more accuratly its 90 days from the day you enter any other schengen country than Italy.

No, its not okay. Change of purpose may led to deny your entry in schengen state. On your entry in Schengen state, you'll be asked to present proof that you have for admission and proof and in most of the cases(first time vistors). They usually call university asking information and approval.
