I'm a Canadian permanent resident(not a citizen yet) and I Booked my tickets online to go to Europe and my flight is from Calgary Ab to Frankfurt and its connecting rightaway from Frankfurt to Ljubljana and from Ljubljana to Skopje (where my destination is) I contacted the German consult to ask if i will need a transit visa they said only if I'm changing terminals and take all my bags, but I contacted the agency they told me I'm taking terminal one in calgary and get off in frankfurt in terminal one and to lubljana i get of in terminal one it's all happening in one terminal and the german cosulate said I won't need a transit visa as long as I dont change terminals. Then i heard something about schengen visa; is that different from transit visa I'm confused if any of you has some clear inforamtion to tell me if I will require any type of visa to my destination.
I'm leaving in june 1 , 09 so help please...

Transit visa is a type of Schengen visa. Other types could be tourist visa, work visa etc and they are all Schengen visa.

In other words, people would need Canadian visa to go to Canada, US visa to go to US. Similarly, people need Schengen visa to go to Schengen countries such as Germany.
