Hello Travellers,
I really like your site, thank you all so much for your knowledge!
I have a question now that someone might easily answer, so please help me out if you can.
I am german and Im living in Berlin here right now.
My girlfriend from Taiwan wants to visit me soon with a Tourist Visa.
She lived in Japan before for around 10 years and just got back to Taiwan, where she is intending to stay for longer and where she apllies her visa from.
Now is the problem, when she wants to apply for the visa in Taiwan she has to make clear that she stays and lives in Taiwan as it is written also on the page of the german institiute:
IMPORTANT NOTICE
The German Institute Taipei is responsible for visa applications handed in by applicants who have their ordinary residence or domicile in the jurisdiction of the Insitute, i.e. Taiwan. One's ordinary residence is the place, where one usually lives under circumstances which reflect, that the stay is not only momentarily. As a rule, it is the place where one works and lives.
Because she just got back she doesnt have a job yet which papers she could show and she is living with her mum so no contracts or anything.
only resident permit or writings from the town hall or so are not enough they said on the phone.
So we are trying to show them the old contract from Japans Work and House to show that this thing has ended, and that shes willing to stay and live in Taiwan from now on.
Now my question:
Do you think it will work? Is it gonna be enough for the institute to see writings and dates from Japan? We dont have any other way right now, even when she starts a job and gets contracts to show, they wont easily let her go again after one month of work.
Or do you have any other possibilty which I havent thought of?
If everything goes wrong and they say it is not enough I thought of a Plan B.
Getting the Schengen Tourist Visa through a different country, like the Netherlands, say that she intends to travel Europe without a Main Destination
(if you intend to visit several Schengen countries but do not have a main destination, you should apply for a visa at the office of the country which is your first point of entry.)
and then go to Germany the second day and stay here until the visa ends.
Is that possible???
Thank you very much for your help!
