Dear Sirs
My daughter who is a South African citizen and currently living in Albania as a permanent resident will be travelling from Albania to visit us in the U.S.A. during December. She has a valid USA tourist visa B1 and will fly fromTirana, Albania to Rome, Italy where she will have a 1 1/2 hour layover before catching her flight to the USA. Does she require an airport transit visa for this time or is she exempt because she has a valid USA visa in her passport.
And if she does require a visa is she able to get one at the airport in Rome? We are wanting her to fly out on 7 December, 2009, and return to Albania on 6 January, 2010, on a return ticket.
I have read the various information on your site but am still confused as to whether she needs an airport transit visa or not - she will not be leaving the airport but merely going to the next International Terminal to continue her journey to the USA.
