applied for schengen tourist visa at atlanta in person. they haven't told us whether the visa is approved or not. how much time it will take to process and return the passports. Any help is appreciated

I applied at Switzerland Consulate in San Francisco for Schengen Visa on around 8 days back and have not received any reply back. Do you have any idea , generally, how long it takes?
