  • Avoid Nazi Germany / Schengen Visa

My folks who are old were travelling through Munich (staying for a 2 days) before heading to Chicago. They were initially supposed to layover at Belgium but changed plans due to cheaper fares. They got visitor Schengen from Belgium Embassy.

They show up at Munich Airport and are detained at the airport with charges of false itinerary, got humiliated with even suspicious charges of terrorism (60 year senior Indian Govt official??????). Finally, they fined them $6000 (took all their cash around $9000 and gave them change after taking the fine money) and let them fly (deported) to Chicago. I am a US Citizen and how can I sue the germans? Should I get a lawyer here or Germany?

    Thanks

Yes. Please sue them. A related incident happened to my parents although not as drastic as your parents.

Germany still treats persons of non-European descent like they were pariahs.

You can't say that in general about Germany!

I am a German and I know my people.
I'm sorry that both of you had such bad experiences, but I can guarantee you, not all Germans are like that.

When I was coming to the USA, I had also a very rude officer from the Homeland Security Service on the airport (after a 12 hour flight) who gave me a hart time. But I'm sure, not every officer in America act in general like this rude officer did.

Let me put it like that:
In every country you can find rude persons, but it would be wrong, when you would judge the whole country in general for the rude behavior of one person.

      Well, never mind
