Transit in Netherlands

I have F-1 US visa and my flight will transit in Netherlands for 9 hours. If I want to have a quick visit in holland, is it possible to apply for a
visa?? And the same thing for the returning trip? But the embassy requires a hotel reservation and I won't be staying in a hotel (only 9 hours).. What is the type of visa I shall request?

nederlands D visa query

Hi Friends,

I will be visiting nederlands on work permit and for this I have got my mvv approved and visa stamped accordingly.
My Nederland visa states a remark BNL1 , as per searching on net I have found out description for BNL1 which means BNL 1 : visa issued following authorisation by the central authorities.
Please let me know what does it actually means does any restrictions are there.
