We are the first time traveler to Schengen area but had a travel history to nearby countries. We had done the detailed research about the process and the documents needed. Nonetheless, our visa was refused by Austrian Embassy. Reasons given for the refusal was reason code 10 and 13. As we had sufficient time left, we decided to appeal against the visa refusal.
