Can i apply for schengen visa in two countries

Hello,
I have already applied for schengen visa for one country and it is under processing for some time now.There is a stamp in my passport on my application.Now can i submit schengen visa application for another country in parallel.If so what could be the repercussion and travel reason for both the applications are different and are submitted clearly

Please advice
