Schengen visa dilemma!
Hi! I am in a bit of a fix and am looking for some sagely advice! I am an indian citizen with a green card. I plan on leaving to India in a few weeks(2 1/2 weeks) and on my return (within a week), I have booked tickets for a trip to Italy. Little did I know that the Schengen visa application process would be so chaotic! I have an appointment at the italian consulate only for the 16th of June during which I will be in India (the wait list is pretty insane). I have three questions:
1) Can I apply for a Schengen visa whilst I am in India? I have called various embassies with mixed results some say yes others say no
2) Can I go through a different route Germany perhaps, for my schegen visa even though I my flight in germany is only a layover?
3) If either of these two don't work is there an alternative?!
