Surrendering Greencard

I have an initial naturalization interview on Dec, at the USCIS San Jose Field office. Can anyone tell me when I will be asked to surrender my greencard? Do they allowed to postpone the oath ceremony / keep resident status if I have travel plans soon. Thank you! And good luck to everyone

interview date-9/5/2019

I filed for N-400 on March 9th, Biomerics done on April,12th, April 14th the online status changes "Case Is In Line For An Interview" till today, no change since then.
Anybody is in same boat?, it has been more than 9 months?
