Hello all,
Can someone explain how they calculate the Continuous Residence Requirement for citizenship? Are the 6 months calculated as the total for the five years if applying as a family green card holder or is it 6 months for each year of those 5 years?
Thank you!

Continuous Residence?
Does USCIS only look at the last 5 years of LPR status prior to application for "continuous residence" part?
Or do they consider since the beginning of LPR status?
For physical presence, it was clearly stated that it must be 30 months out of the 5 last years. But I found it...

Thinking of applying for US Citizenship for my parents who got their green card in Apr 2011. But during the last five years they have taken two trips abroad with each trip lasting a little over 180 days(184 and 186 days to be exact). URGENT: N-400 application. Stayed outside US for 7 months; wife was not well
Greetings all,
I got my Green Card in Jan 29, 2007. I'm hoping to file for my citizenship (N-400) next week. It seems that I may have broken my continuous residence requirements since I was in Ghana from July 26, 2011 to February 20, 2012 (209 days). My only other travel outside was 2...

Am I qualified for naturalization?
Hi all,
I prepared a spreadsheet with my case, I don't know if it's possible for me to apply for naturalization. My situation (I think) is very curious: I was studying in Brazil before I gained permanent residence in 2004. I was granted with a re-entry permit that I never used in my...
