Having read all the official online posts I am still confused:
1) Is the conversion absolutely compulsory?
1) If yes, if one does not apply for an OCI will the existing PIO card be invalidated?
2) If not, will the existing PIO card remain valid until its expiry date? -
Travel outside US during H4 to L1 Conversion

I came to US in H4 VISA and my company initiated L1 from here in July 2015. Since, it was a regular Petition, there is no progress yet, however, I need to go back to India to join work. Will my Petition remain valid even if I travel outside the US?
