H1 visa amendment is to be filed, should I travel on B1 for 2 weeks?

My H1 visa amendment filing is in process. My employer wants me to travel on B1 visa for 2 weeks.

Should I travel? Could that be a problem later while H1 visa processing?

If yes, what kind of questions I should expect at the port of entry?
