L1 B Renewal impact on existing stamped visa

I have a valid L1 B valid till Mar, 2019. I wanted to go for renewal of L1 B through Consulate.
I am planning to visit mexico for my visa and stamping. If in case renewal get denial from consulate, Will they going to cancel my stamped visa (which is valid till mar, 2019) ?...
