Travel to Vancouver for visa renewal

Early this Nov I am traveling to Vancouver Canada for L1 visa renewal. I have few questions related with logistics of same trip..
1.) is 10 days stay is sufficient for this trip?
2.) While coming back is it possible to take train to Seattle? Can someone share experiences of the same?...
