Multiple O-1 applications with different sponsors (employers)

A prospective employer has suggested applying for a O-1 visa before a formal job offer has been made.

If I proceed with the application with this employer, does it mean I cannot apply for other O-1 visas sponsored by other companies?

I am working on O-1 status and need to travel internationally and go for O-1 visa stamping. My I-140 is approved on EB-1 category. I have not filed I-485 yet due to retrogression. Is it safe to go for O-1 stamping in this situation.

My O-1A visa will expire in July 2015. My employer wants to extend my visa and the immigration attorney office they work with told them it would be better to apply for a new H1-B visa. I am reluctant to do this since my eventual goal would be to apply for EB-1A or EB-2 NIW permanent residency.
