  • My Story - Hope

Its been an incredible journey that has culminated in my US citizenship.

As an aside, I'm a great proponent for DACA and will champion and advocate for those kids that came into this great country built on immigrants. Those kids and now young adults know no home apart from these United Sates.

    My story.

    Received - 08/16/2010
    PD - 08/16/2010
    Finger prints - 09/27/2010
    Interview notice - 10/27/2010
    Interview - 11/30/2010
    Withdrew N400 at interview.

    Received - 05/12/2017
    PD - 05/12/2017
    Finger prints - 06/07/2017
    Interview notice - 08/08/2017
    Interview - 09/12/2017 - N652 Decision cannot be made.
    Oath - 11/06/2017 - US citizen

Had a DUI (biggest mistake in 2008). Economy was tanking. Had a child out of wedlock. Went to my first N400 interview in 2010. The IO told me to withdraw instead of being denied. Obliged. Life happened. 7 years later. Here I am a US citizen.

Be truthful. Make sure you have all your paperwork in order during the interview. I rolled the dice and said that if I did not get approved this time around I was ready to go back to my home country and explore the possibilities. I have a knack in making money. Made lots of it and lost lots of it when the economy started tanking in 2008.

What an incredible journey. Although we come from different places. We are all the same. The same aspirations for our children and their children. God bless this great country that gave me the wings to fly. All the best.

Thank you for giving hope . And congratulations to you too. My journey will be almost over. I got my Oath Taking Ceremony in the mail today and the date is November 28 . It is at 10:15AM. I am glad that it is in the morning. I googled the place of ceremony and for that day there are 4 oath taking ceremonies from 8 :00 AM - 5:00 PM and this are two hour ceremonies. GOD is good all the time and all the time GOD is good.

Looks like 'Wales' only took 6 months to naturalization... may i ask how long yours took?

We sent in ours on 10/6 - got our Biometrics on 11/7.

My priority date is May 2017, had my biometrics on June 12, 2017, interview on Oct. 23 and Oath Taking Ceremony date is Nov. 28, 2017. Maybe around 6 and half months.
