You will find very useful tips on how to stage your evidence for your initial filing and for your interview. Start with #1 and work your way through #16. All experiences I have selected for your review are valuable. All approaches are worth learning from.

Key points:
- The key is to first create a timeline of your relationship from the day you met. Evidence of bona fide marriage refers to your intentions to build a life together. Such evidence is not limited to your time as a married couple. It begins from the day you met or started dating.

- If you marry and file right away, it is key to submit evidence from the day you met to show the longevity of your relationship. You do not want USCIS thinking you met on Monday, married on Tuesday and then filed for your green card on Wednesday.

- List your evidence using full sentences that explain what your evidence is proof of.

- In the event that your case is adjudicated after your interview, and you are not present when they review your evidence, the Table of contents will provide full explanations to your Immigration Services Officer. There will not be any doubt of what your evidence is proof of. Remember that USCIS does not have to connect the dots for you.

You can also add more layers to this cabbage by distributing the Advance Health Care Directive to people who should be aware of it, even if they are not designated as advocates. Then those non-advocates may furnish an affidavit stating that on MM/DD/YY, you shared the AHCD with them and that they understand the terms. NOTE that you are not asking them to furnish an affidavit speaking to the bona fide nature of your marriage. However, that is not needed.
You will also have an easier time getting someone to agree to furnish such notarized affidavit if they do not have to speak to the nature of your marriage. This is an example to follow. If you read through it, you get the sense that the authors are just talking with you about their marriage. For our interview, I think I will use a mix between the table of Contents put together by Passe?s and Emerald 2020.
Each main evidence on Passe?s table of contents is basically a cabbage. As you read through each main evidence, It?s like you?re peeling layer after layer of evidence.
They were able to show evidence of their relationship since they met in 2012. It might take some digging folks, but it?s possible. You don?t want USCIS thinking you met on Monday, got married on Tuesday and filed for your green card on Wednesday.

This case is remarkable because their interview was scheduled within 2 to 3 months.
Tezza did not have a lease, and presented several notarized affidavits of residence to prove that they lived with his wife?s parents. He also presented an Advanced health care directive. I highly recommend this document. USCIS takes it very seriously.
Bottom line is that they maximized the evidence they had available. They focused on evidence dating back to when they first met until the adjustment of status interview. (It?s sort of the way you would present evidence for a k-1 fiance visa)

These threads contain everything you need to file all the required evidence of bona fide marriage with your AOS package - as required by the I-130 instructions page 3/12.(See screenshot below). Some call this practice “FRONT-LOADING YOUR EVIDENCE OF BONA FIDE MARRIAGE”.

We have observed in this forum that folks, who FRONT-LOAD their evidence with their petitions, have easier and straightforward interviews. Immigration officers do review the evidence before the interview and naturally, form an opinion based on the evidence you submitted.

That opinion may favor you or not. You can easily tip the scale by overloading your application with evidence of bona fide marriage SINCE THE DAY YOU MET. You do not want USCIS thinking you met on Monday, married on Tuesday and then filed for your green card on Wednesday.

You will find very useful tips on how to stage your evidence for your initial filing and for your interview. Start with #1 and work your way through #20. All experiences I have selected for your review are valuable. All approaches are worth learning from.

Open a word document and copy and paste anything that you find useful onto that document. That will help you craft your own Table of Contents.

Key points:
- The key is to first create a timeline of your relationship from the day you met. Evidence of bona fide marriage refers to your intentions to build a life together. Such evidence is not limited to your time as a married couple. It begins from the day you met or started dating.

- If you marry and file right away, it is key to submit evidence from the day you met to show the longevity of your relationship. You do not want USCIS thinking you met on Monday, married on Tuesday and then filed for your green card on Wednesday.

- List your evidence using full sentences that explain what your evidence is proof of.

Each main evidence on Passe?s table of contents is basically a cabbage. As you read through each main evidence, It?s like you?re peeling layer after layer of evidence.
They were able to show evidence of their relationship since they met in 2012. It might take some digging folks, but it?s possible. You don?t want USCIS thinking you met on Monday, got married on Tuesday and filed for your green card on Wednesday.

This case is remarkable because their interview was scheduled within 2 to 3 months.
Tezza did not have a lease, and presented several notarized affidavits of residence to prove that they lived with his wife?s parents. He also presented an Advanced health care directive. I highly recommend this document. USCIS takes it very seriously.
Bottom line is that they maximized the evidence they had available. They focused on evidence dating back to when they first met until the adjustment of status interview. (It?s sort of the way you would present evidence for a k-1 fiance visa)

I am thinking of printing my bank statements and highlighting instances where I had to transfer my share of the rent to his account.

Everything you mentioned is fine. While having a joint account is great, other forms of comingling is good too. Don?t stress and go ahead and highlight transferred money

You are welcome! Please take the time to read through the resources on the most recent post of this thread. Your question tells me that perhaps you have not.

Remember that only an immigration officer has discretion to decide whether the evidence you submit is sufficient proof of bona fide marriage. We cannot tell you A, and C are enough. There are no GOLD STARS getting approved with minimal evidence. The process is invasive and we signed up for it. Evidence is repetitive and redundant by nature. So submit as much as you can.

Comments on Commingling of Finances:
USCIS cares that you are jointly responsible for bills, loans, apartment lease, home mortgage. Even if you do not pool all your financial resources into ONE ACCOUNT, you can show that you pay your share of the bills, loans, apartment lease, home mortgage from your personal checking account.
However, if you have joint accounts and pool all your financial resources into one or two accounts, that is great. That makes it a lot easier to show commingling of finances.
You can use Zelle https://www.zellepay.com/ to transfer funds to your spouse from your checking/savings account to his/her accounts. You do not even need to have your accounts at the same bank. The funds are available immediately, and you may add notes like ?Julie Jone?s share of February?s rent?. You may then print your transfer history as evidence of how you two are jointly responsible for household expenses, rent, mortgage, etc.

This is an example to follow. If you read through it, you get the sense that the authors are just talking with you about their marriage. For our interview, I think I will use a mix between the table of Contents put together by Passe?s and Emerald 2020.
Each main evidence on Passe?s table of contents is basically a cabbage. As you read through each main evidence, It?s like you?re peeling layer after layer of evidence.
They were able to show evidence of their relationship since they met in 2012. It might take some digging folks, but it?s possible. You don?t want USCIS thinking you met on Monday, got married on Tuesday and filed for your green card on Wednesday.

This case is remarkable because their interview was scheduled within 2 to 3 months.
Tezza did not have a lease, and presented several notarized affidavits of residence to prove that they lived with his wife?s parents. He also presented an Advanced health care directive. I highly recommend this document. USCIS takes it very seriously.
Bottom line is that they maximized the evidence they had available. They focused on evidence dating back to when they first met until the adjustment of status interview. (It?s sort of the way you would present evidence for a k-1 fiance visa)

This case is a good example of how to present your evidence if you do not commingle your finances. USCIS does prefer commingling. Kaylip did not commingle, and that IS FINE. You just have to get creative. And they did.

Hi folks, I'm soooo happy I found this forum!
soon I will have my aos interview based on marriage. I haven't got ead/ap so no ssn yet. So I haven't been able to join any bank account or utility bills.! I just got all the documents we sent initially and lots of pictures plus letters from friends. I'm sooooo worried we don't have enough evidence! I only have 3 more weeks for my interview. I'm here organizing the documents for the interview and I`m wondering if the employment letter is really necessary. It seems pretty silly for me, once we already have pay stubs, w2 and tax documents proving the we are current employed and show our salary. Actually, I dont wanna bother my manager/boss with this personal inquiry.
