  • Is NBC the worst service center

Based on processing times and RFEs it seems like National Benefits Center is the worst. Agree or Disagree?

Agree. It took them 5 and a half month to even look at my applications and then they sent request for taxes for 2017 which was already provided in the original application. After RFIE was undelivered by post office they didnt bothered to put it in system thus providing me wrong information over the phone and prolonged my processing time for work permit for over 6 weeks. Good old times...

I've definitely been screwed over by them as well. I got a RFIE back in May only to find out 3 weeks ago that it was sent in error. Basically my case has been delayed for months due to their incompetence. Still don't have my EAD but it has supposedly been sent for expedited processing. Who knows how long that will take.

In my case, they rejected my application because for God-only-knows reasons decided not to cash my third check, and said that I didn't pay. They claim they sent me a notice about the payment. Never got the said letter. Even though they had "no payment", instead of rejecting my case right away, they made me take my fingerprints, reply a RFIE, never let me know they got it, and only four months later after a few calls is that they decided to reject my case. 4 FREAKING MONTHS! What makes evrything worse is that they know they can do whatever they want becasue there's no way I can prove them wrong.

Wow! I'm so sorry that has happened to you. That is completely ridiculous. You are right though, they can get away with it because it's your word against theirs. I would definitely reach out to your senator or congressman. My case finally started moving after I contacted my congressman and they did an inquiry on my behalf. You can find out who your rep is using this site https://www.house.gov/representative...representative. I went to their site and clicked on their immigration tab and contacted them that way. A few hours later they sent me a privacy release form via email that I needed to sign and after 7-10 days they reached out to me with info from USCIS.

If I were in your shoes, at this point, I would reach out to your U.S Senator(s), Congressperson, and finally Ombudsman. Your EAD is way outside processing times. So you could even submit a request to expedite based on the fact that it is outside processing times and it's USCIS error. Then pile up the inquiries from the Senator, Congressperson and Ombudsman on top of it.

For them to send you a RFIE after that many months makes me think they didn't go through your case until that moment. Ugh. This whole thing is so frustrating and there is very little we can do. In a few weeks it will be 8 months without EAD for the both of us. My next step is to contact the ombudsman if I don't receive an update soon.

Been off here for couple days in light of Thanksgiving holidays.

I did call on Monday of this week. I asked to expedite but I didn?t meet the requirements to.

                          Extremely financial lost
                          Humanitarian reasons
And some other things. I have no proof of any of the options they provided to expedite EAD so I told representative that I will not do it.
I am so happy for the holidays and that my husband and I bought a new TV , some new furnitures and stuff so I am completely distracted by it all (hahah)
In any serious event , I do plan on calling next week even though the last rep I spoke with seem very annoyed that I had called the week before , spoke with an immi officer.... she told me very very nonchalantly that I have to wait another 30 days for them to respond to my SECOND SR.
The first ever immi officer I spoke with about 2 weeks ago told me to call every week and that I should hear something in 2 weeks ( well , this week approaching is the 2 weeks ) hmmmmmm

Best wishes. We?re in this together.

Ok, scratch expediting off the list. I would move on to US Senator(s), Congressperson and Ombudsman. It's outside processing times. They need to issue your combo card. It's that simple.

Yes arrrrrggg .... I am seriously not even trying to allow myself to get frustrated anymore. I felt a little bit of anxiety and frustration last week but I let it go. I will remain peaceful yet persistent in my fight to get this over with. Next week is another week.
