Traveling on L2 Visa when EAD application is pending

Hi All,
I am on a L2 Visa and I have applied for my EAD and it is been more than 90 days that I have applied. I visited the USCIS yesterday and they told me that I will be getting the EAD within 10 days time as more than 90 days are over. I want to travel India for a short period that is 4-5 weeks. Now if I want to travel do I need to get any persmission with USCIS. And when the EAD application is pending will I be able to travel. Please help.

The I-94 should be valid when you apply for EAD and when it gets processed as USCIS issues EAD based on your status (L2). If you travel while processing, you return the I-94 at exit and can no longer be verified as holding L2 status as you exited the country.

USCIS might verify your status and find out that you are not on L2 and decide not to process the EAD. It is risky to travel as no one can tell if the verification of status is over in your case or still pending.

Travel while L2 EAD is pending

Hi,
I have the same query,
I was planning to come from canada to US over a weekend on L2 and apply EAD and head back to canada.
Will this be a problem? I called up uscis.gov and they said that I can travel when EAD is pending. I know I talked to a customer support executive, but still my doubt persists. Please help and confirm if I can travel while L2 EAD is pending.
