If I were you, I would have sued them for this mental torture. This kind of stress is the last thing you need during pregnancy. They are violating laws big time.

Is the client a MNC or your company a MNC? Mind PMing the name of these jerks?

      What the heck?

The manager is indeed a Blood Sucker Self-centered Idiotic Falsely Project-Driven Plague Bug.

Damn these suckers. If my manager was like yours, I would give everyone on top a hard time that they deserve.

I encourage you to take one step further to contact you state labor deptt. As long as employees like you will keep quiet, employers like yours will continue to take advantage of you and many like you.

Scream You will talk to the media. The local channel reporter would be very interested. Termination due to pregnancy and FMLA is against the law.

You have been told over and over that they are violating the laws and you needed a link to believe that? Good, it makes sense now.

txh1b, please dont be upset. I understand you all are supporting me.

I came to know from the same link that, there is women's bureau especially to take care of such issues. So before going to attorney I should knock their door first.

I am not upset. I was frustrated about the fact that it took so much to convince an educated person like you to stand up against illegal stuff.

Like I said earlier, if you don't stand up for your rights, you will be taken advantage of and it could be in any country, not just US.

one more point to consider this is not a termination but a transfer. FMLA does not deter transfer withing seperate parts of the world. As long as the roles, benefits and duties remain same it does not matter where she is working.

Travel insurance or health care policy

In the event you find it necessary to travel, you may have a health or travel policy that covers medical evacuation back to your home country. In fact, since your employer wishes to transfer you there, it could be requested as part of your relocation.

This is coordinated with your doctor and requires his approval. It costs tens of thousands of dollars depending on the origin and destination. Given the cost, your employer might change his mind and place you on a disability leave here.

                      Good luck with your baby!
