I compiled a list of about 40 questions for my mother and have her reading through them every day. Then I quiz her over the phone rewording questions to see if she can answer to the point. She is sportively going through it but I feel very very bad for the trouble she is having to undergo. Our parents are old and most of them prefer the independence they have in India. Most of them would much rather visit us occassionally than live here permanently. But the consulate apparently does not share this view. Their decisions are sometimes so arbitary and subjective and they fail to recognise the pain and trouble we have to go through not to mention the tension for our parents!

Thanks much for your sample question, this will be really helpful for my in-laws to get ready and anticipate how the quesions is going to be like.

I don't know why the VISA process has turned to be this much pain.
I admit, the process has to be tightened, but at the same time it shouldn't this harden.
The sad thing is there is no dates for tamil interview until next year, having the consulate located at SouthIndia, definitely they should have slots for all the south india languages at any time of the year.
Hope atleast it get's better in the years to come.

Again thanks much for your questions
