  • Parents Visa rejected at Hyderabad

    Hai ,
My Parents visas were rejected on 29-12-2011 at Hyderabad Consulate .
My husband is the sponsorer for them .I and my husband both got green cards in october 2011 and August 2011.

The following are the questions asked by Visa officer :
    Asked my Father :
Q:What do your son in law do ?
A:He works as programmer analyst in ABC company .
    Q:What do you do?
    A:Agriculture.
    Q:What is your Income?
    A:1.5 Lakh per annum
Then Visa Officer asked my mother:
    Q:What do You do ?
    A:Housewife
Q:How many children do you have what do they do ?
A:2 Daughters, the one in USA is younger and both are housewifes.

Thats it .. He told that their visas were rejected and handed over 214B form and told them
that they can reapply if they want to do so .

We can't understand whats wrong with the answers given by my parents.
While filling up DS160 form for my father we mentioned my father's occupation as Agriculture and in the montly income column we mentioned it as Not Applicable as he is not an employee and do not get any monthly income. Is this the reason for rejection ?

Is 1.5 lakhs income not suggestable figure ?Is it very low? Please pour in your ideas and views. We want to reapply again for them. Is it better to wait for 3 months and reapply again or what is the suggestable waiting period for applying again? Are there any changes we have to make in the Ds160 form regarding income ? Should my father mention the same income in the next interview also

I have already checked the link about visa refusal in immihelp.com.
Please share your views and ideas .

Whatever is his real income is his income. That is what you can show.

You can divide annual income by 12 and mention in monthly income column.

you can mention the income as mentioned above by immihelp.....but again the issue can be that the VO thinks that you can be a potential immigrant as you might not come back....i think it would not be a bad idea to apply again as they can provide there ties with there home country as there other daughter is here...they have residential land & agriculture land over here....i think the VO should be informed of these things even if he does not asks much questions to your parents....also your parents should take the interview in there native language.....i know it is difficult but hope this helps...

Thanks for your suggestion. Their visa interview was in our native language(Telugu) only in Hyderabad consulate I told my parents to show the CA evaluation of properties and other financial documents only if the VO asks them .I thought that it would show their desperation towards getting visa if they mention the VO about the properties by themselves (without being asked)

          Want to reapply again

          Hai,
we want to reapply for my parents visitors visa in the month of april or may . Last time we mentioned their duration of stay as 5 months in invitation letters and in other papers , but know we want to change it as 6 or 8 weeks as my father is a farmer and The VO might think that 6 or 8 weeks may be reasonable period for a farmer rather than 5 months . So if we mention 6 or 8 weeks is there any chance that that they will get visa with a validity of 3 or 4 months?
