anyone waiting for passport after interview @chennai

I had my interview on 12th April Thursday

Today is 18th April wednesday not yet received any mail from vfs too.

13 14 15 was a holiday for the consulate.

But its already 2 working days now .

I am beginning to get worried now.

Has anyone who attended interview before 12th received their passports from chennai embassy? Plz tell me how many days it took

Calm down. It takes about 2 weeks to get the stamped passport back (assuming the application didn't go into admin processing). If you don't get it by two weeks, contact VFS helpdesk.

@shervin ours is a totally different case.

Our petition went into rfe in Dec , then we came to India and waited until April for thngs to go through before we gave the interview

And then he said ur visa is approved

Again administrative processing? Scares me

Possible. You are talking about entirely two different things. RFE is with USCIS. 221g admin processing is with U.S consulates. They are totally different entities. Although I hope that your case did not go into admin processing and it is just a delay in handing over the stamped passport to VFS, there is still a chance of the application going into admin processing after a successful visa interview. But like I mentioned in my earlier reply, it is too early to hit the panic button. Wait patiently for another week or soefore contacting VFS.

Collected my passport today and yes I got panicked way too early

I attended my VISA interview on 18 may 2012 and VO said my VISA was approved. VO said I will receive my passport in 3-5 working days. It is more than 5 working days now, but still I have not got my passport.I did not receive any colored slips or 221-g from VO. I thought everything was through. what could be the reason for the delay in my case. Do you have any idea? Please help me. It is frustrating to go through such things.

It takes about a couple of weeks to get the passport back. It is too early to panic. Wait patiently for few more days. The last weekend was a long weekend for the U.S consulate and that can add a little more to the delay.
